Intesa is a dietary product used for the needs of patients in standard drug therapy or as an independent treatment in the following cases:
-Irritable bowel syndrome (Irritable bowel syndrome)
-Inflammatory diseases of the intestinal mucosa (including inflammatory bowel diseases, diarrhea of ??various etiologies)
– Disorder of the intestinal flora
-Intestinal infections and diarrhea (including antibiotic diarrhea)
-Deficiency of short-chain fatty acids
-Inflammation of the intestine in cancer after radiotherapy and chemotherapy
Inflammatory bowel diseases are idiopathic chronic inflammation of the intestines. The group of inflammatory bowel diseases includes: Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and indeterminate colitis.
Mechanism of action: One of the main functions of colon bacteria is the fermentation of indigestible residues of fiber and carbohydrates, such as starch, pectins, cellulose. Fermentation leads to the formation of short chain fatty acids (SFCA), of which acetate, propionate and butyrate are the most common.
These fatty acids serve as a source of energy for colonocytes and show numerous protective effects at the level of the gastrointestinal tract.
Increased production (SFCA) of short-chain fatty acids significantly lowers intestinal pH and thus promotes fermentation in the colon. SFCA reduces carcinogen absorption and the risk of developing colorectal cancer. ?
-Butyrate provides normal colon function, maintains motility and prevents the growth of pathogenic flora.
-Butyrate reduces inflammation, reduces apoptosis and inhibits tumor cell growth.
-Absorption of butyrate promotes the absorption of sodium, potassium and water, the effects of which give it antidiuretic characteristics.
-Butyrate has a beneficial effect on cellular homeostasis, has antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory functions.
